Choose the letters for your activity
Alphabet starts with the 26 English letters A–Z. Vowels contains A, E, I, O and U. Consonants contains the other 21 letters, including Y. Y can play different roles in words; these presets are letter groups, not pronunciation rules.
For a custom set, enter English letters separated by commas or whitespace, or type them together. Lowercase becomes uppercase, and repeated letters appear once in their first-entered order. A one-letter set is allowed. Accented letters, digits and other punctuation need correcting before you can apply the set.
Allow repeats or work through a round
Repeats are allowed by default: every letter in the applied set is eligible on every pick. In a no-repeat round, a completed pick uses one letter. Used letters stay visible, and the remaining count shows your progress.
With one letter remaining, Reveal last letter shows that known letter directly. When none remain, reset the round to use the same set again. Cancelling a spin consumes no letter. The completed wheel keeps its picked letter under the pointer until the next pick.
Changes to the set or repeat mode wait for Apply settings. After a result, confirm whether to replace the round or keep it. Reset restores the applied set. Nothing is saved: refreshing starts a new round.
Three ideas to try
- Find an object in the room beginning with the picked letter.
- Invent a character and a place that share the chosen initial.
- Choose the vowel preset and build three words around the result.
Agree your activity rules before picking. A letter does not identify a student or decide who should have the next turn.
Choose another kind of result
For names or any other choices, use the general decision wheel. For student turns with attendance and no repeats, use Classroom Name Picker. To put every entry into an order at once, use Random List Shuffler.
