Choose a full order or a selected batch

A full-list shuffle gives every current entry a position in one complete result. It is useful when you need a presentation running order, a queue, a draft order, a sequence of chores, or a fresh playlist order. Shuffle the whole list is the default.

For a smaller batch, choose Select a number of entries and enter a whole number from 1 to the number of valid entries before you draw. The count starts blank. Each entry can appear at most once within a draw. Copy selected entries copies only that batch as plain text, one entry per line, in the displayed order. The list is not a prize ranking. Changing the count requires Edit list and count, which clears the result; drawing again is always explicit.

Keep sequence separate from groups

Full-list shuffle returns one vertical order. Neither mode divides the entries into labelled groups or tries to balance headcounts. If you need several groups instead of first, second, third, and later positions, open the Random Team Generator.

For a full-list result, Numbered view makes each position visible. Plain view hides the printed numbers while keeping the same ordered-list meaning for assistive technology. The selected view also controls the text placed on the clipboard, so switching format never changes or reshuffles the result.

Distinguish people before selecting a batch

Each non-empty line receives its own temporary identity. In a full-list shuffle, if two entries are both called Alex, both appear in the shuffled list; one is never silently merged with the other. WheelSays adds occurrence context for screen-reader users in the ordinary list. In a timetable, matching labels also receive a visible source-order qualifier so the screen, copied schedule and print target distinguish each occurrence.

Selection requires one intended person per line, once only. Matching labels block selection until you distinguish them: Alex, alex and Ａｌｅｘ match, while Alex R and Alex S do not. The check ignores letter case and compatible Unicode forms after trimming line edges; it does not collapse internal spaces or remove accents. The error identifies the matching entry numbers. No entries are silently merged, deleted or renamed. Different labels do not prove different people; WheelSays does not verify real identities.

Blank lines are ignored, surrounding spaces are removed, and each retained label can contain up to 60 characters. Unicode, emoji, and repeated entries keep their entered spelling. Edit the source list when a label needs correction, then create a new result explicitly.

Use browser randomness without forcing a different result

WheelSays shuffles the current entries using browser cryptography. In a full-list shuffle, every entry appears once in the resulting order. Shuffle again starts from the same stable source snapshot, not from the order currently on screen. A random shuffle can occasionally repeat an earlier arrangement, and WheelSays does not distort the process by retrying until it looks different.

Draw again from full list includes everyone from the original source again. Earlier selections may return, including the same entire batch in the same order. Selecting the whole source is allowed. There are no weights, tickets, exclusions across draws or stored draw history.

If browser randomness fails, an initial attempt produces no partial result. A later failed reshuffle leaves the previous complete result available so the page never presents a mixture of old and new positions. A failed new draw also keeps the previous selected batch and says that it is still shown.

Add a timetable when the order needs times

Timetables are available only for full-list results. Shuffle first, then choose Add times. Enter a start, a hard end on the same day and an equal whole-minute duration for each item. Include speaking, questions and changeover in that duration. You can add one break after a numbered position. All required timing fields start blank so you choose the session yourself.

Selected batches have no timetable, manual ordering or Print schedule control. To change from a full-list result to selection, use Edit list first; this clears the order and any timetable.

WheelSays uses its own equal-slot scheduling model: multiply the item count by the slot duration, then add the optional break. Compare that total with the time between start and hard end. If it fits, the tool gives every item its full slot and leaves spare time at the end. If it does not fit, it shows the shortfall and keeps any previously applied schedule. It never cuts items or shortens slots to make a result fit.

Swap entries to adjust a timetable manually. Times stay with positions, including the break. Shuffle again makes a fresh random order from the original list, retains the applied times and clears manual adjustments. Edit times opens a draft; Copy schedule and Print schedule keep using the applied result until you apply the changes. Cancel discards the draft. Remove times keeps the current order and returns to numbered or plain output.

Print schedule opens your browser's print facility, which may offer Save as PDF. WheelSays supplies the current timetable as native text and does not generate a PDF file. The timetable stays fixed while the print view is open; cancelling does not count as printing. This is a planning aid, not a live timer or a promise that an activity will finish on time.

Save the source only when you choose

Unsaved input, temporary item identities, the selected display format, shuffled result, selection mode, count and selected batch, timetable settings, drafts and swaps stay in memory. Refreshing or leaving the page clears them. The explicit Save control stores only the generic list name and the source labels in their source order in this browser; it never stores the shuffled order. Saving or sending a list includes labels only, never the selection mode, count or result.

Copying is a user-directed transfer to the device clipboard. WheelSays does not retain the copied text, but the browser, operating system, or another clipboard tool may keep its own history.
